Azerbaijan Unveils Laser and Microwave Counter-Drone Systems at Tartar Electromechanical Plant
Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the reconstructed Tartar Electromechanical Plant on January 13, showcasing new directed-energy counter-drone systems, Magic Beam and Pulsar. Magic Beam, a mobile system on a 4×4 armored vehicle, uses a 30-kilowatt laser to neutralize small aerial threats, requiring no ammunition for rapid response.
Pulsar, also mounted on a 4×4 platform, employs microwave technology to disable drone electronics. Both systems enhance Azerbaijan's counter-UAV capabilities, addressing regional drone threats with mobile, rapid-deployment solutions. This development is part of Azerbaijan's broader defense-industrial expansion overseen by the Ministry of Defense Industry.
