Aztelekom, under AZCON Holding, has initiated a project to enhance telecom infrastructure using renewable energy. Solar energy systems have been installed at GPON Optical Line Terminal stations in Qarasaqqal and Mollakənd villages of the Kurdəmir District.

Each station features a 5 kW solar system; Qarasaqqal uses 12V/100A AGM batteries, while Mollakənd employs four 48V/50A lithium batteries. The systems aim to enhance energy supply stability, mitigate service disruptions, and ensure continuous GPON network operation. Aztelekom plans to extend renewable energy use to other regions by 2026.
