Babcock and Tech Southwest Launch National Marine Autonomy Accelerator to Support UK Marine Innovation
Babcock and Tech Southwest have launched the National Marine Autonomy Accelerator, in partnership with the University of Plymouth. The program aims to support high-growth companies in autonomous marine systems and technologies. It is the first cohort focused on marine autonomy and follows Plymouth's designation as the UK's National Centre for Marine Autonomy. The accelerator will run through 2026, culminating in an Investor Day for participants to pitch to investors.

Babcock and Tech Southwest have initiated the National Marine Autonomy Accelerator to assist high-growth companies in autonomous marine technologies, supported by the University of Plymouth. This marks the first cohort dedicated to marine autonomy, aligning with Plymouth's recent recognition as the UK's National Centre for Marine Autonomy.
The program will accept applications from UK-based companies and will include Growth Days, learning modules, and mentoring, culminating in an Investor Day in October 2026. The initiative aims to drive innovation and strengthen collaboration across defense, research, and industry.
