Babcock & Wilcox Selects Siemens Energy for Steam Turbine Generators in AI Data Center Power Project

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURENATURAL GAS

Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) has selected Siemens Energy to supply steam turbine generator sets for its project aimed at delivering one gigawatt of power to Applied Digital's AI Factory. An initial agreement for a limited notice to proceed has been established, allowing B&W to secure the turbine sets and target power delivery by the end of 2028.

The full contract is anticipated to be finalized in Q1 2026. The project involves designing and installing four 300-megawatt natural gas-fired power plants, utilizing a gas-fired boiler to generate steam for the turbines. This collaboration aims to efficiently meet the energy demands of the growing AI data center market.
