Bac Lieu LNG-to-Power Plant Signs Grid Connection Agreement, Aiming for 2030 Operation in Vietnam
A grid connection agreement has been signed for the 3,200 MW Bac Lieu LNG-to-power plant, facilitating electricity delivery to Vietnam's national grid. The agreement between EVNNPT and BLLP includes a 500 kV transmission line and targets commercial operation by 2030, aligning with Power Development Plan VIII. The project, funded by a USTDA grant, aims to enhance energy security and support socioeconomic development in the Mekong Delta.

The Bac Lieu LNG-to-power plant has signed a grid connection agreement, bringing it closer to connecting to Vietnam's national grid. The deal, signed by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and Bac Lieu Liquefied Natural Gas Power Co., Ltd.
(BLLP), outlines a framework for the connection via a 500 kV transmission line and targets phased commercial operation by 2030. The project is part of the revised Power Development Plan VIII and will utilize a feasibility study funded by the USTDA. Approximately $136.3 billion is needed over five years for the revised plan, with $18.1 billion earmarked for grid infrastructure.
