BAE Systems' Bofors Acquires Swedish Defense Contractor Aston Harald
BAE Systems' subsidiary Bofors has acquired Aston Harald, a Swedish defense contractor, to enhance production capabilities. Founded in 2011, Aston Harald specializes in complex mechanical components for military, aerospace, and commercial applications. This acquisition will support Bofors' flagship weapon systems and is expected to close by Q2 2026, pending regulatory approvals.

BAE Systems' Swedish subsidiary Bofors has acquired Aston Harald Mekaniska Verkstad AB, a defense contractor based in Kristinehamn. Established in 2011, Aston Harald focuses on manufacturing complex mechanical components for military, aerospace, and commercial sectors, employing around 100 people.
The acquisition aims to enhance Bofors' production capacity, supporting systems like the Archer 155-mm howitzer and Tridon Mk2 anti-aircraft gun, as well as the Combat Vehicle 9040 and naval guns. The deal is pending regulatory approval and is expected to finalize by Q2 2026.
