BAE Systems Partners with Frankenburg Technologies for Scalable Counter-Drone Weapons Development
BAE Systems has signed a memorandum of understanding with Frankenburg Technologies to develop low-cost, mass-producible counter-drone interceptors. The partnership will initially focus on affordable warheads for missile systems, leveraging BAE's munitions expertise. This collaboration aims to accelerate the transition from prototype to operational use. The growing threat of drone warfare is prompting efforts across Europe and Asia to enhance counter-drone capabilities.
BAE Systems has partnered with Frankenburg Technologies to develop scalable counter-drone weapons, focusing on low-cost, mass-producible interceptors. The memorandum of understanding will assess BAE's munitions expertise for developing affordable warheads for Frankenburg's missile systems.
Initially targeting counter-drone capabilities, the partnership may expand to other technologies. In Europe and Asia, efforts to counter drone threats are intensifying, with Estonia collaborating with Hanwha Aerospace for counter-drone capabilities and Germany's KNDS advancing its Tytan counter-drone system. Singapore is also enhancing defenses with Epirus for microwave-based counter-drone technology.
