BAE Systems plc has secured a contract to deliver two Bofors 40Mk4 naval gun systems to the Brazilian Navy, contributing to the Patrol Vessel Construction Project (PRONAPA). The 40Mk4 gun, which is effective against aircraft, drones, and surface targets, utilizes programmable 3P ammunition.
The Brazilian Navy currently operates Bofors 40mm guns across its fleet. BAE Systems' stock experienced a slight decline of 0.17 percent, trading at 1,810.00 pence. The contract reinforces BAE's position in the South American defense market and may influence future procurement decisions in the region.
