Bank of Jamaica Initiates Tender for New Business Continuity Centre
The Bank of Jamaica is seeking architectural and engineering consultants for a new Business Continuity Centre on a 3.2-acre site. This facility aims to ensure uninterrupted operations in emergencies, reflecting a significant infrastructure investment by the central bank.
The Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) has issued a tender for the design and construction of a Business Continuity Centre (BCC) on Hillcrest Avenue, close to the French Embassy. The facility, intended to accommodate 40 employees, will support critical functions that cannot be performed remotely and is part of a broader investment strategy.
The BOJ acquired the site for approximately US$8 million and seeks to build a structure spanning 3,000 to 4,000 square meters. Key requirements include advanced disaster resilience features and LEED Platinum certification. Concurrently, the National Water Commission is upgrading water and sewerage infrastructure in several areas of Kingston, focusing on resilience and service continuity, reflecting Jamaica's commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 6.
