Barnes & Noble is set to open four new locations in Chicago, Illinois, as part of a plan to establish 60 stores this year. One location will be a 30,000-square-foot store in a former Old Navy, currently in early development.

Another store, spanning 18,000 square feet, will replace a popular existing store at the Westfield Old Orchard and is expected to open in the spring. A third store will occupy the former Borders Books and Music location, anticipated to launch in late spring. This expansion follows a resurgence in the company's brick-and-mortar sales.
