Battelle has secured a contract with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) for its Scientific and Technical Engagement Partnership (STEP) 2.0, focusing on biological threat mitigation. The contract has a base value of $52.9 million and a total potential value of $93.3 million if all options are exercised.

It aims to enhance US force readiness through scientific and technical solutions addressing biological risks. Battelle will collaborate with DTRA and global partners to improve disease detection and reporting capabilities. The organization is also involved in other defense projects, including a technology support contract with the US Department of Defense.
