BC Hydro Repurposes Site C Camp for North Coast Transmission Line Project
BC Hydro will repurpose 85% of the Site C worker accommodation facility for the North Coast Transmission Line project, relocating it to areas between Prince George and Terrace. The project aims to double electricity flow to support LNG and resource expansion. Construction is set to start this summer, with completion expected by 2034, following legislative changes to expedite the process. The Site C camp will close on March 31.

BC Hydro is repurposing the Site C worker accommodation facility for the North Coast Transmission Line project, relocating 85% of the camp, including 21 dormitories and a construction office, to sites between Prince George and Terrace. This initiative supports construction set to commence this summer, with the line expected to be fully operational by 2034.
The project will double electricity capacity to support LNG and resource projects. The Site C camp will cease operations on March 31, and BC Hydro is negotiating the future of remaining structures. The total estimated cost for the first two project phases is $6 billion.
