B.C. Hydro to Repurpose Site C Camp for North Coast Transmission Line Project
B.C. Hydro will relocate 85% of its Site C work camp to support the North Coast Transmission Line construction. The camp, closing March 31, includes 21 dorms and an office. Construction on the transmission line will begin this summer, enhancing power supply for a new LNG terminal and promoting economic growth in northern B.C.

B.C. Hydro announced plans to repurpose 85% of its Site C work camp for the North Coast Transmission Line (NCTL) project, which will construct a new power transmission line from Prince George to Terrace.
The camp, located near Fort St. John, will close on March 31 and its infrastructure will be dismantled this spring. The NCTL project aims to enhance electricity capacity to support a planned floating LNG terminal and stimulate economic development in the region. Local First Nations leaders support the repurposing initiative, emphasizing environmental considerations and resource savings.
