The piped natural gas (PNG) project in Belagavi, launched several years ago, has only achieved 74% of its goal, with 37,603 connections out of 50,000 targeted households. The project, implemented by Mega City Gas Distribution Private Ltd since 2017, faces delays with 1,800 connections still pending. Residents continue to rely on LPG cylinders due to the slow progress.

The piped natural gas (PNG) project in Belagavi aims to supply 50,000 households, but after seven years, only 37,603 connections have been made, reaching 74% of the goal. Launched by the central government and managed by Mega City Gas Distribution Private Ltd since 2017, work commenced in 2018 but has been slow, with 1,800 connections still pending. Challenges such as road excavation for pipeline installation have been cited by the implementing agency, leaving residents dependent on LPG cylinders.
