Benkirane Calls for Normalization of Morocco-Algeria Relations Post-Chengriha
Abdelilah Benkirane, Secretary-General of Morocco's Justice and Development Party, called for the normalization of relations with Algeria, criticizing the current Algerian administration's belief that conflicts with Morocco are beneficial. He urged for the reopening of land borders closed since 1994 and emphasized the importance of regional cohesion and aligned foreign policies between the two nations, especially in light of General Saïd Chengriha's upcoming leadership transition.

He deemed this approach outdated and highlighted the need for regional cohesion amidst international tensions.
