Bergesen Secures $2 Billion LNG Charter with Nigeria LNG
Bergesen will deliver four LNG vessels to Nigeria LNG, generating approximately $2 billion in future revenues. This contract highlights the growing demand for liquefied natural gas transportation as global gas consumption rises significantly.

Bergesen has contracted to supply four LNG carriers to Nigeria LNG Ltd., potentially generating revenues of around $2 billion over the contract's duration. The vessels are expected to produce an annual charter income of $100 million, with Nigeria LNG planning to utilize them for a minimum of twenty years.
The company, a leader in gas shipping, is capitalizing on increased global natural gas use, which has surged by 22% in the past decade. This growth is in contrast to the slower 13% increase in crude oil consumption, prompting oil firms to transport gas in liquefied form. The long-term charter agreements represent a strategic move for Bergesen in a low-risk investment landscape.
