Bharat Forge Unveils India's First Indigenous Light Tank, Enhancing Defence Capabilities

Bharat Forge has unveiled India's first fully indigenous light tank, set for rollout in March 2026, addressing high-altitude military needs. With a combat weight under 25 tonnes, it features a 105 mm main gun and amphibious capabilities.
Concurrently, Larsen and Toubro received a contract for 18 BvS10 Sindhu vehicles tailored for high-altitude operations, with production starting in 2027. Sagar Defence Engineering introduced the Varuna HA aerial vehicle for diverse missions.
Throttle Aerospace delivered tethered drones to the Indian Army for enhanced surveillance. These developments underscore India's push towards self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
