Bihar Announces Defence Corridor and Semiconductor Park in 2026-27 Budget

Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit praised the state's development model and women's empowerment initiatives during a meeting with a delegation from the National Defence College. The delegation included officers from the Indian Army and Air Force, and representatives from Oman, South Africa, the United States, and Uzbekistan.

Amrit highlighted progress in agriculture, women's participation, and infrastructure, noting that all households were connected to electricity in the past decade. The Bihar government announced the creation of a defence corridor and a semiconductor manufacturing park in the 2026-27 budget, aimed at enhancing industrial identity and creating jobs. A committee for these projects was approved on November 25, indicating that work will commence soon.
