Black Sesame Technologies' Huashan A2000 Chip Receives US Approval for Global Sales

DEFENSE

Black Sesame Technologies announced that its Huashan A2000 chip has passed reviews by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Department of Defense, allowing for global sales and deployment. This approval eliminates a major regulatory barrier, indicating readiness for large-scale commercial use in automated driving systems.

The Huashan A2000, built on a 7-nanometer process, integrates high-performance CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, and dedicated accelerators, matching the performance of leading global intelligent driving chips. It supports various computing precisions and works with Black Sesame's BaRT AI toolchain.

After a year of regulatory scrutiny, the A2000 is now the first advanced automotive computing chip from a China-based company to receive such approval. Black Sesame plans to enhance collaboration with industry partners to promote the chip's adoption in mass-production vehicles.
