Blue Energy Receives NRC Approval for Texas Gas-to-Nuclear Power Plant; US to Sell Venezuelan Oil Indefinitely
Blue Energy has received approval from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to construct a groundbreaking gas-to-nuclear power plant in Texas, with plans to begin construction in the second quarter of this year and power generation expected by 2030. Meanwhile, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced that the US will indefinitely sell Venezuelan oil, with proceeds aimed at benefiting the Venezuelan people, following the seizure of two oil tankers linked to sanctioned Venezuelan oil. Additionally, the Trump administration has finalized a rollback of National Environmental Policy Act regulations to expedite federal permitting, a move that has faced criticism amid stalled discussions in Congress.

This facility aims to be the world's first gas-to-nuclear conversion plant and is set to start construction in the second quarter of this year, with power generation expected by 2030.
In a separate development, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced plans for the US to sell Venezuelan oil indefinitely, directing proceeds back to benefit the Venezuelan people. The US recently seized two oil tankers linked to sanctioned Venezuelan oil.
