BMA's 7th Diving Support Vessel Hull Delivered to Brest for French Navy
The hull of the seventh Diving Support Vessel (VSP) for the French Navy has been delivered to Brest. This marks a significant step in the program aimed at replacing aging intervention vessels, with the Zinnia set for completion and delivery by 2027.

The hull, measuring 26.5 meters long and 7 meters wide, was transported from Merré to the CIB site in Brest on April 21. The Zinnia, along with the eighth unit Hysope, will serve the French Navy's Mediterranean School, specifically the diving school in Saint-Mandrier.
Four VSPs have been delivered so far, with the first, Ophrys, entering service in 2022. The second, Acacia, will join it in March 2025, while Iris was delivered in summer 2025. The program, initiated in 2019 by the DGA, aims to replace nine outdated intervention vessels. Each VSP is designed for 105 tons displacement and can carry 16 divers.
