BOE Advances Perovskite Photovoltaics with New Production Line and R&D Initiatives
BOE has launched a pilot production line for perovskite photovoltaics at Hefei BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., leveraging its expertise from the display industry. The new fully automated production line has already begun generating samples, achieving efficiencies of 27.37% for rigid and 21.39% for flexible modules, with applications in building-integrated photovoltaics and consumer electronics. The company aims to enhance efficiency and service life while scaling production and developing a robust industrial ecosystem.

On January 5, BOE announced that investors visited its pilot production line at Hefei BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., detailing its plans in the perovskite photovoltaics sector. BOE's entry into this sector leverages its expertise from the display industry, allowing for the transfer of technologies in glass processing and thin-film deposition to perovskite manufacturing.
The pilot line began producing samples within 38 days of equipment installation. BOE has developed a fully automated flexible perovskite production line and is conducting parallel R&D on rigid, flexible, and tandem modules.
Recent tests show a maximum efficiency of 27.37% for rigid modules and 21.39% for flexible modules. Current applications include building-integrated photovoltaics and collaborations with consumer electronics for new products. BOE aims to enhance conversion efficiency and service life while scaling up production and developing a comprehensive industrial ecosystem.
