Boeing Achieves Key Milestones in Aircraft, Space, and Defense Sectors
Boeing reports significant advancements in the certification of the 777-9, a successful Artemis-II mission, and a major defense contract. These developments are crucial for rebuilding confidence in Boeing's operational capabilities.

Boeing has made notable progress across three sectors: the 777-9 certification, space missions, and defense contracts. On April 4, the 777-9 successfully completed a critical aborted takeoff test at Edwards Air Force Base, a requirement for its planned entry into service in 2027.
In the aerospace sector, Boeing's Space Launch System core stage successfully launched Artemis-II, marking the first crewed lunar mission since Apollo. Additionally, Boeing secured a $900 million maintenance contract with the US Air Force for the T-38C-Talon avionics system, valid until March 2036.
A large order from Korean Air for 95 jets reflects regained confidence in Boeing's production quality amid ongoing supply chain challenges, with a total order backlog of $682 billion. Production rates for the 737 MAX are set to increase from 42 to 47 aircraft per month by mid-2026, with MAX-7 and MAX-10 certifications anticipated later this year.
