Boom Supersonic Partners with Baker Hughes for 1.21GW Crusoe Data Center Power Supply
Boom Supersonic has contracted Baker Hughes to provide gas generators for a 1.21GW power deal with Crusoe. Baker Hughes will supply 25 Brush Power Generation DAX 7 generators, enabling power output of 20 to 310MVA. Boom has ordered 31 units totaling 1.3GW, with deliveries expected between mid-2026 and 2028. This collaboration aims to address rising power demands in the data center sector as Boom develops its supersonic airliner Overture, targeting test flights in 2027 and commercial operations by 2030.

Boom's 42MW natural gas turbine operates without a dedicated water supply and can utilize both natural gas and diesel. The company is also developing the Overture supersonic airliner, aiming for test flights in 2027 and commercial operations in 2030.
