Boulder County Awards $50,000 in Grants for Circular Economy Food Rescue Projects
Boulder County has awarded $50,000 to five local organizations through its 2026 Circular Economy Funding Program to support food recovery and waste reduction initiatives. Community Fruit Rescue received the largest grant of $20,000 for its 'Roots to Fruits Initiative,' which includes workshops and a tool library.
Growing Gardens received $13,050 to reduce single-use plastics in greenhouses. Cal-Wood Education Center got $8,700 for a zero-waste food scrap hauling initiative. Harvest of Hope was awarded $5,600 to enhance food rescue logistics, and Coal Creek Meals on Wheels received $2,650 to transition to a reusable serviceware model. The program aims to support Boulder County's zero-waste goals.
