Bowei Alloy to Sell U.S. Photovoltaic Production Capacity Amid Impairments
Bowei Alloy plans to sell its U.S. photovoltaic production capacity due to significant impairments totaling RMB 1.006 billion, primarily from U.S. policy impacts. The company reported expected 2025 net profit between RMB 100-150 million, a decrease of up to 92.61%. Bowei Alloy formed a task force and appointed J.P. Morgan as a financial advisor for the sale, with negotiations in progress and completion aimed for Q1 2026.

Bowei Alloy announced plans to sell its U.S. photovoltaic production capacity following significant impairments totaling RMB 1.006 billion, primarily due to U.S. policy impacts including high anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese photovoltaic products. The company projected a net profit of RMB 100-150 million for 2025, an 88.92%-92.61% decrease year-on-year.
Bowei established a task force in July 2025 and appointed J.P. Morgan as a financial advisor for the sale. As of February 2026, the company is in in-depth negotiations with 3-4 potential buyers, aiming for completion in Q1 2026.
