bp to Acquire Woodside Energy's Stake in Trinidad and Tobago's Calypso Gas Project
bp is set to acquire Woodside Energy's 70% interest in the Calypso gas project, increasing its ownership to 100%. This move enhances bp's operational capabilities in Trinidad and Tobago, where it already has significant gas infrastructure.

bp will acquire Woodside Energy's 70% interest in the Calypso gas project, raising its stake to full ownership and operatorship. The transaction is projected to finalize by the end of 2026, pending government and regulatory approval.
Calypso, located offshore Trinidad and Tobago, is an early-stage deepwater natural gas project, complementing bp's existing operations in the region. bp currently holds a 45% stake in the Atlantic LNG facility, the largest gas supplier to Trinidad's domestic market. This acquisition may enhance bp's production capabilities and support long-term growth in the area.
