BrahMos Missile Production Drops Below 50% Amid Employee Transfers and Delayed Project Approval
BrahMos missile production has fallen to under 50% of last year's output, with significant implications for India's defense capabilities. Delays in the BrahMos-NG missile project and recent employee transfers have raised concerns over future supply commitments to the Indian Navy.

BrahMos missile production has decreased to below half of the previous year's levels due to employee transfers from Hyderabad to Lucknow and Pilani, resulting in workforce dissatisfaction. The Indian Navy has been informed of potential delays in missile supply, while an order for 220 BrahMos-ER missiles was placed on March 1, 2024, for naval deployment.
The BrahMos-NG project remains unapproved by the Ministry of Defence despite the 2021 initiation of its testing facility. The new missile design aims to fit within advanced aircraft, but delays could necessitate alternative systems to maintain operational viability. A decline in production could weaken India's deterrence capabilities.
