Brazil Develops Air-Launched Anti-Ship Missile Systems with SIATT for Fleet Air Arm
DEFENSE
Brazil's SIATT and the Directorate of Navy Weapons Systems (DSAM) are developing air-launched anti-ship missile systems, known as MARSUP, for the Fleet Air Arm Command. A protocol signed on 23 February initiates studies and information exchanges for this development, following a technical cooperation agreement on 20 February 2025.
The MARSUP program will build on the existing MANSUP surface-to-surface missile, which has a range of approximately 70 km and is being developed into an extended-range version (MANSUP-ER) exceeding 200 km. MANSUP will arm the upcoming Tamandaré-class frigates and Avibras Astros II rocket systems.
