ICNCC Establishes Nine Departments to Enhance Governance in Chin State
The Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC) has created nine departments to formalize governance in Chin State, Myanmar. This initiative aims to improve service delivery and prepare for post-conflict administration amidst ongoing regional challenges.

On April 22, 2026, the ICNCC announced the creation of nine departments aimed at establishing a structured governance framework in Chin State. This decision aligns with the Chin National Charter and follows a resolution from the ICNCC's March 27 meeting.
Concurrently, the Chinland Council, associated with the Chin National Front/Chin National Army, maintains its own administrative systems and public services in its controlled areas. This initiative by the ICNCC is part of broader efforts to strengthen governance institutions, enhance service delivery, and lay the groundwork for future administration, amidst persistent security issues and humanitarian crises in the region.
