Brazil Launches BRL300 Million Funding Program to Enhance Defence Industry Innovation
The Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation has initiated a BRL300 million funding program to boost local defence innovation and reduce reliance on foreign technology. The initiative, part of a BRL3.3 billion package approved on February 6, aims for 50% autonomy in critical defence technology production. Projects eligible for funding include unmanned systems, robotics, cyber security, and advanced materials, among others. Companies accredited as Strategic Defense Companies must submit proposals.
