The Brazilian Army has selected MBDA's Enhanced Modular Air Defence Solutions (EMADS) for its medium-range ground-based air defense (GBAD) missile system project. A contract is pending, with Brazil aiming to acquire three EMADS batteries through a government-to-government deal.

The acquisition guidelines were approved on 22 December 2025. The EMADS system will include the MBDA Common Anti-Air Modular Missile-Extended Range (CAMM-ER), a Leonardo Electronics KRONOS LAND C-band radar system, and trucks from Iveco Defence Vehicles.

The CAMM-ER missile has a weight of 160 kg, measures 4.2 m in length, and has a maximum range of 40 km. The EMADS system will consist of a command battery with radar vehicles and a battery operations center, along with two firing batteries each equipped with missile launch carriers and support vehicles. It is designed to operate in all weather conditions and protect against various air threats.
