Breakout Ventures has closed its $114 million Fund III, aimed at investing in early-stage companies leveraging scientific innovations and AI. Since its inception in 2016, the firm has attracted returning investors, including Cortes Capital and new partners like JIMCO and Korea Omega Investment Corporation.

The fund's strategy includes supporting startups that translate complex scientific advancements into scalable businesses. Notable previous investments include Cytovale, which developed an FDA-cleared AI sepsis diagnostic, and Twelve, which produces sustainable aviation fuel.

Fund III continues the firm's commitment to sectors such as biotech, healthcare, and robotics, with initial investments in companies like Reach Industries and two stealth-mode ventures. The firm has expanded its leadership team with the promotion of Nima Ronaghi to Partner.
