Bridge Collapse in Jammu Traps Labourers; Rescue Efforts Ongoing
A bridge collapse in Jammu has trapped multiple labourers, with ongoing rescue operations involving police and military units. The incident highlights safety concerns during construction work on infrastructure previously damaged by natural disasters.

On Friday, a bridge section collapsed in the Bantalab area of Jammu, trapping four labourers under the debris during repair work on a retaining wall. Authorities, including police, the Army, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), are conducting rescue operations.
One injured worker has been rescued and transported to a hospital. Witnesses reported that six labourers were present at the time, with two escaping and four becoming trapped, including a mason and relatives of the contractor. The road link has been closed to facilitate rescue efforts, emphasizing the need for safety measures in construction activities following previous flood damage.
