British Royal Navy Launches HMS Active, Second Type 31 Frigate, and Begins HMS Bulldog Construction
On February 24, 2026, the British Royal Navy rolled out HMS Active, the second Type 31 frigate, at Rosyth shipyard. The rollout marks the completion of its main construction phase. Concurrently, steel was cut for HMS Bulldog, the fourth frigate in the series. The Type 31 project aims to replace aging Type 23 frigates, with all five ships to be operational by the decade's end.
