Brunei Energy Services & Trading (BEST) and Vitol have extended their liquefied natural gas (LNG) Sale and Purchase Agreement, originally established in 2022. The extension allows BEST to supply Vitol with up to four LNG cargoes annually from 2028 to 2031, continuing support for Vitol's Asian portfolio.

The initial agreement covered approximately 0.4 million tonnes per annum over five years, with deliveries commencing in 2023. This deal reinforces Brunei's position as a reliable LNG supplier amid growing demand for long-term supply security in Asia.

The agreement highlights BEST's role as Brunei's LNG marketing arm and aims to stabilize revenue in a competitive LNG export environment. The trend of extending contracts with established producers is becoming crucial for managing supply risks due to evolving market conditions.
