BUA Cement and CBMI to Build 3 Million Ton Facility in Sokoto, Nigeria
BUA Cement signed an agreement with CBMI to construct a 3-million-ton-per-annum cement line in Sokoto, Nigeria, as part of a $240 million project that will increase BUA's production capacity to 20 million tons. The project includes a power plant and other facilities.
This agreement builds on a 15-year partnership with CBMI, which has previously delivered 14 million tons in cement production lines for BUA. The Sokoto plant is strategically positioned to serve domestic and regional markets.
Additionally, BUA's 700-ton-per-day mini LNG plant in Kogi will provide energy for the new line. Completion is targeted within 20 months, aligning with Nigeria’s recent industrial reforms.
