Buckeye Energy Brokers Proposes Gas Aggregation Deal to Hubbard Township
Thomas Bellish, president of Buckeye Energy Brokers Inc., presented to Hubbard Township officials about a gas aggregation program after the county opted for a different plan. The natural gas term ends in March, prompting Bellish to seek local government participation.
Four communities have remained with Buckeye following the county's decision. The new program is expected to cost households approximately $4.93 per mcf. Bellish criticized the county's choice of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio for energy aggregation, highlighting legal concerns and the lack of certification by the Public Utilities Commission. He noted that Buckeye's rates are better than those received by the county, and he emphasized the importance of timing for energy contracts.
