Bulgaria's Arms Exports to Ukraine Exceed €156 Million in 2024
Bulgaria's arms exports to Ukraine surged to €156.4 million in 2024, marking a twelvefold increase from €12.6 million in 2023. This growth reflects a broader trend in the Bulgarian defense sector, which achieved record exports totaling €2.83 billion in the same year.

In 2024, Bulgaria reported arms and ammunition exports to Ukraine valued at €156,365,717, a significant rise from €12.6 million in 2023 and no recorded exports in 2022. Total exports of defense-related products reached €2,831,285,190, indicating a growth of over €1.17 billion since 2022.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, Investments and Industry (MEII) emphasized the defense sector's importance for economic development and industrial capacity. Key markets for Bulgarian military products included Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, the UK, Slovakia, and the USA. However, the MEII noted it lacks data on exports to third countries that may have been sent to Ukraine.
