Busan Port Authority to Develop LNG and Methanol Bunkering Hub by 2032
Busan Port Authority aims to establish a bunkering hub for LNG and green methanol by 2032, enhancing regional fuel supply.

By 2032, Busan Port Authority plans to construct a liquefied natural gas storage tank with a capacity of 37,000 cubic meters and a green methanol storage tank of 150,000 cubic meters at Busan New Port. The project will occupy approximately 123,000 square meters in the southern container terminal logistics zone and will include necessary berthing infrastructure for fuel transport and bunkering vessels.
This initiative is a response to the International Maritime Organization's greenhouse gas regulations and aims to position Busan as a vital supply hub for alternative marine fuels. With rising demand for cleaner marine fuels, this infrastructure is critical for ensuring stable fuel supplies.
