Cà Mau Plans Renewable Energy Hub for the Mekong Delta by 2030
Cà Mau aims to enhance electricity production by 10.4% annually from 2026 to 2030, targeting 13,500 million kWh by 2030. The province will focus on wind and solar energy, and plans to initiate 42 power projects, including key LNG facilities.

Cà Mau's energy growth plan for 2026-2030 includes increasing electricity output from 9,100 million kWh in 2026 to 13,500 million kWh by 2030. The strategy will develop renewable sources such as wind and solar power, alongside new energy research in hydrogen and green ammonia.
Key projects include 42 power sources, with four projects totaling 300 MW operational by 2026, and an additional 38 projects adding 5,448 MW by 2030. The LNG power plant in Bac Lieu (3,200 MW) and associated infrastructure are also prioritized. Environmental protection measures will accompany project development, ensuring sustainability.
