Call to Revitalize Historic Educational Institutions in Kogi State
Kogi State advocates urgent restoration of Old Teachers College, Okene Secondary School, and LGSS Upogoro to enhance local education.

The Kogi State Government is urged to urgently restore Old Teachers College (OTC), Okene Secondary School (OSS), and LGSS Upogoro to improve educational standards. OSS, established in 1944, has faced significant decline, particularly after part of its premises was converted into an army barracks.
This deterioration has led many affluent local families to seek education for their children outside the state, raising concerns over local educational heritage. The appeal emphasizes that both the Governor and the Accountant-General must act to ensure these institutions regain their status. This revitalization is crucial for providing quality education and preserving local heritage, as Kogi Central lacks federal secondary institutions compared to Kogi East.
