Cameroon has improved its national cyber defense by upgrading the Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) technology through a World Bank-funded project. The handover occurred on January 20, 2026, in Yaoundé, with new systems valued at over FCFA 735 million, including servers and vulnerability scanning tools.
CIRT collects 200 GB of data daily and responded to 200 urgent requests nationwide. In 2025, 32,500 legal requisitions were processed, a 30% increase from 2024. The initiative aims to enhance digital inclusion and protect critical infrastructure.
