Cameroon's Gold Sector Reforms Projected to Generate FCFA 2,000 Billion Annually
Cameroon is launching five major mining projects aimed at enhancing transparency and boosting the economy. The government anticipates a revenue increase to over FCFA 2,000 billion annually from these initiatives.

Cameroon has initiated five significant projects and reforms in its gold sector, expected to generate over FCFA 2,000 billion annually. The projects include the Bipindi-Grand-Zambi and Kribi-Lobe iron projects, the Minim-Martap bauxite project with a goal of 2.4 million tons of aluminum, the Bidzar marble project, and the Colomine gold mining project.
In the short term, revenues are estimated to exceed FCFA 1,000 billion per year, with potential growth as additional mineral deposits are explored. The reforms aim to improve transparency, secure public revenue, and enhance local participation, which could transform the sector's contribution to the national economy.
