CAMS Transitioning to Automated Verification for Enhanced Security and Access
The Defense Contract Management Agency is implementing an automated validation process for its Contract Administration Management System (CAMS), aimed at improving security and expanding access to mission partners. The new electronic System Authorization Access Request (eSAAR) process will support the Department of Defense's Zero Trust Strategy and is projected to launch in early fiscal year 2027.

The Defense Contract Management Agency's (DCMA) transition to an automated validation process for CAMS will enhance security and broaden access for mission partners. Users will soon need to utilize an electronic System Authorization Access Request (eSAAR) to access CAMS, aligning with directives from the Department of Defense's chief information security officer.
Current users will maintain access during the transition, which is expected to launch in early FY27. Training and coordination with supervisors are recommended to avoid delays. The transition aims to reduce administrative burdens, allowing personnel to focus on high-value tasks. Enhanced access will facilitate collaboration with partners such as the Defense Logistics Agency and the Air Force, supporting broader DCMA objectives.
