Camuzzi and Vitol Sign LNG Export Agreement at La Plata Port
Camuzzi Gas Inversora and Vitol have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop the LNG del Plata project, targeting an annual capacity of 2.4 million tons for gas exports. This partnership positions Argentina as a potential key player in the global LNG market, leveraging its extensive shale gas resources from the Vaca Muerta formation.

Camuzzi Gas Inversora and Vitol have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the LNG del Plata project, aimed at exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG) from La Plata Port, Buenos Aires. The project is set to achieve a nominal capacity of at least 2.4 million tons per annum (MTPA), with potential plans for expansion toward 12 MTPA by 2030.
Vitol will have the option to acquire up to 100% of the production through long-term contracts, also considering a future equity stake in the project. This initiative is critical for Argentina's integration into the global energy market, especially with the country's considerable gas reserves. The project's progression is contingent upon meeting regulatory approvals and securing necessary funding.
