Canada Invests Over $4 Million in Nova Scotia Defense Initiatives
The Government of Canada is investing more than $4 million under the Regional Defence Investment Initiative (RDII) to support nine businesses in Nova Scotia. The funds will be used for various projects, including developing AI technology, manufacturing zinc-ion batteries, and enhancing logistics capabilities. The investment aims to create jobs and bolster the regional defense sector.

The Government of Canada is allocating over $4 million through the Regional Defence Investment Initiative (RDII) to nine Nova Scotia businesses. Key projects include Mathers Logistics Ltd.'s purchase of heavy-lift equipment for efficient cargo handling, creating three jobs, and the development of Canada's first commercial-grade zinc-ion battery cell for marine defense.
Other initiatives involve expanding production facilities for ocean data systems, upgrading satellite manufacturing, and designing recovery systems for remotely operated vehicles. The investment supports job creation and growth in the defense sector.
