Canadian Companies and Universities Collaborate with Hanwha Ocean on Submarine Supply Chain
Canadian companies and universities signed five Teaming Agreements and three MOUs with Hanwha Ocean on March 7 to integrate into the global submarine supply chain under the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project. The partnerships aim to foster innovation and skilled workforce development in alignment with Canada's defense objectives, leveraging the KSS-III submarine technology from South Korea. The agreements were formalized at an event attended by various stakeholders, highlighting the significance of Canada-Korea defense collaboration.

On March 7, Canadian companies and universities entered five Teaming Agreements and three MOUs with Hanwha Ocean as part of the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project. This initiative links Canadian manufacturers and academic institutions with the South Korean naval shipbuilder, promoting domestic innovation and skilled workforce development.
The agreements establish tri-party partnerships in submarine capability areas and include collaboration with the University of Toronto, University of New Brunswick, and Dalhousie University.
