Canadian Energy Metals Advances Project Thor for Alumina Production
Canadian Energy Metals is progressing with Project Thor, targeting financing and a pre-feasibility study completion by year-end. The project could fulfill North America's aluminum demand for hundreds of years using a cleaner extraction process from a significant shale deposit.

Canadian Energy Metals is advancing Project Thor, a polymetallic shale deposit in Saskatchewan, with plans for a pre-feasibility study to be completed by the end of 2026. The deposit, located between Zenon Park, Star City, and Tisdale, is positioned to meet North America's aluminum needs for hundreds of years.
The company aims to produce high-purity and chemical-grade alumina, with projected annual output of roughly 1.8 million tonnes. A demonstration plant will be established at the former Westeel facility, and exploration for scandium and vanadium is also planned. The development of a smelter in Saskatchewan is under consideration, leveraging low-cost electricity to enhance the value of alumina.
