Caracas Launches First Ecological Plaza in San Bernardino
The inauguration of Caracas' first Ecological Plaza marks a key initiative in urban revitalization, aiming to create 100 similar spaces. This project focuses on transforming neglected areas into community-managed environments, enhancing public awareness of sustainability and recycling.

Caracas has inaugurated its first Ecological Plaza in San Bernardino, part of a broader plan to establish 100 such plazas across the city. The initiative, launched by Nahum Fernández, aims to convert neglected spaces into community hubs while promoting environmental awareness and sustainability.
The plaza includes a robotics room, veterinary care space, and eco-friendly furniture made from recycled materials. Additionally, trees are tagged with QR codes for identification, supporting conservation efforts.
A proposal to declare San Bernardino and El Recreo as 'Green Parishes' has been submitted to protect these areas legally. This project could enhance community engagement and improve urban living conditions in Caracas.
